I like to cook. I know enough Thai, Arabic, and Spanish words to form complete sentences that only ~.0007% of the world can understand. I’ve never had a brain freeze. I was home schooled. I’ve been to 31 countries on four continents (and counting.) I spend way too much time thinking about how badly I wish I could rap. I’ve spent the night on a sidewalk in Indonesia, climbed in the Alps, and swam in the deepest crater lake in the world. I have been blessed.
Design is a very personal experience for me. I’ve drawn since I was capable of holding a pencil, and art has always been a part of my life, so I was thrilled when I learned that I could earn a living doing the things I love. Since then, I have focused all my creative energy on being the best I could be, more for my own gratification than for anyone else. It’s never easy, but it’s always rewarding.
I have been blessed; therefore I believe it is imperative that I give something back. Visual communication can raise awareness and give birth to new ideas, and those who wield that power can change the world. I’ve made it my life goal to help as much as I can through my talents, and this imperative has given me the opportunity to work with some amazing people and organizations in some of the most exotic places on earth, places like Bangkok, Beirut, and even Pittsburgh, PA. :P
But why this lengthy introduction? Why not just say, “Hi, I’m Ryan and I make cool things?" Because I believe the depth of a design is proportional to the depth of the designer.
